Accessibility statement for Riverbend Coffee
Riverbend Coffee Roasters BV is committed to making Riverbend Coffee accessible, in line with Directive (EU) 2019/882 (the European Accessibility Act).
What this service is
Riverbend Coffee is an online shop selling roasted coffee beans and brewing equipment to customers across the European Union. Customers can browse the catalogue, place orders, pay by card or SEPA direct debit, and manage a recurring subscription.
How the service works
Products are browsed from the catalogue and added to a basket. Checkout collects a delivery address and payment details across three steps, each of which can be completed with a keyboard alone and is announced by screen readers. Order confirmations and delivery updates are sent by email in plain text as well as HTML. A customer account is not required to place an order.
How the accessibility requirements are met
This service is assessed against EN 301 549 V3.2.1, which references WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Its current status is partially conformant. The service conforms to most of the applicable requirements. The exceptions listed below are known and are being addressed on the schedule stated against each one.
Known limitations
- Product images uploaded before March 2026 do not all carry alt text. Why: These were imported in bulk from the previous shop platform, and the import did not map the alt text column. Planned: Backfilled in batches; expected complete by 31 December 2026.
- The colour swatches on product pages are smaller than the 24 by 24 pixel minimum target size. Why: The component predates WCAG 2.2 and is used across every product template. Planned: Being replaced as part of the product page rework, expected in Q1 2027.
- Two archived PDF brochures are not tagged for accessibility. Why: They were produced by a third party in 2023 and the source files are no longer available. Planned: The information in both is available as HTML on the same pages. The PDFs will be withdrawn rather than remediated.
How this was assessed
Automated scanning of every template on a weekly schedule using Annex, combined with a manual keyboard and screen reader review of the catalogue, basket and checkout carried out by the development team.
This statement was last reviewed on 2026-09-01.
