Pricing

One subscription covers a portfolio of client sites. The price is set by how many sites you monitor, not by how many people on your team use it, and not by how many scans you run.

What you are actually paying for

Scanning is the cheap part of this. axe-core is free and good, and so is the scanner on this site. What an agency cannot get from a free scanner is the part that survives contact with a client or an authority: a statement that is published and stays current, a dated record showing the work was done on a schedule, and a finding written in terms of the platform the site actually runs on.

That is what the subscription buys. It is a record-keeping product with a scanner attached, not the other way round.

What is not included

Reading this before the prices is deliberate. If any of the following is what you need, this is the wrong product and we would rather you knew now.

  • A compliance guarantee. Nobody can sell you one, and we will not pretend otherwise.
  • Automated checking of colour contrast, keyboard operation or focus visibility — these need a person, and we tell you which criteria they are.
  • Legal advice. The pages here cite the directive and the national instruments; they do not interpret them for your situation.
  • Remediation. Annex tells you what to change and where; the change is yours or your developer's.

Billing, VAT and refunds

Payment is handled by Freemius, which is the merchant of record. In practice that means Freemius is the seller on your invoice, EU VAT is calculated and remitted by them, and a valid VAT invoice is issued automatically. If you are a VAT-registered business in the EU, enter your VAT number at checkout and the reverse charge is applied.

Subscriptions renew until you cancel, and you can cancel from the receipt email without asking us. Within 14 days of a payment you can ask for a refund and get one. We would rather refund you than argue with you.

What counts as a site

One site is one domain you want monitored on a schedule. Staging and development copies of a site you already monitor do not count separately. If a client has several shops on separate domains, each one counts.

If you outgrow a plan you can move up at any time and only pay the difference for the remainder of the period.

Try it before you pay

The free scan tool runs the same rule engine the paid product uses, on one page at a time, with nothing to sign up for. If it does not find anything useful on your client sites, the paid product is not going to change your mind.

The same caveat as everywhere else on this site

Annex does not certify compliance and cannot. Automated tests catch only a portion of accessibility issues, and several WCAG criteria can only be judged by a person — we name which ones rather than quietly scoring them as passed. What is being sold is that the work happens on a schedule and that there is a record of it.
